Medical Clinic

We consider the Residency to be an educational program whose teaching method is "service training" for the acquisition of professional skills. Therefore, this MEDICAL CLINIC Residency Program involves the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for physicians to perform as responsible internists.

Each planned learning objective involves a skill to be developed that belongs to different areas of behavior, and for this reason, the Program was developed by a multidisciplinary work team that included the collaboration of a specialist in Educational Sciences.

In this way, we identified those medical situations or problems that an Internal Medicine Specialist should know how to resolve or guide. Our intention is to train professionals who acquire the necessary skills and develop the appropriate responsibility to perform at a high ethical, human, and professional level ethical, humane, and professional standards in Internal Medicine.

During training, we consider it essential that professionals acquire the following essential skills:

  • Obtain a correct and complete medical history.
  • Perform an adequate physical examination.
  • Evaluate and manage clinical information in a logical, sequential, and problem-oriented manner .
  • Obtain scientific information from the main available sources, evaluate it critically, and integrate the information with clinical practice.
  • Understand the methodology used to conduct scientific research .
  • Participate as agents of change in the institutions in which they work .

Profile of the specialist we train:

We aim to train internists who, based on the medical history, the cornerstone of medicine and the main source of diagnostic information, and using complementary tests in a cost-effective manner, can resolve the most frequent situations in clinical practice with the necessary skills for the job.

It is our goal to add more intensive training in the following areas to the internist's curriculum:

  •     Outpatient medicine
  •     Management of chronic diseases
