We offer specialized care for patients with severe musculoskeletal injuries (fractures) and related complications. The service has professionals specialized in this pathology, which is becoming increasingly common, partly due to increased life expectancy (geriatric fractures) as well as an increase in road and sports accidents (fractures in young adults). The Fracture Service is equipped to treat all types of orthopedic trauma, from minor injuries (finger fractures, sprains, etc.) to more complex injuries that, if poorly treated or treated by physicians with little experience in trauma, can leave severe disabling sequelae (hip, acetabulum, spine fractures, etc.). The possibility of working in highly complex centers, as well as being able to perform all the necessary studies, means that the results in the treatment of these serious injuries are satisfactory. The research activities of the Orthopedic Trauma Service include research in areas of advances in minimally invasive surgery, biomechanics, rehabilitation of lower limb injuries, and limb salvage strategies. There are two ways to treat these patients. One option is during the consultation at the hospital, where the doctor, upon receiving a call from a family member or referring physician, goes to the location to set up everything necessary for surgery (operating room, prosthesis, anesthesiology, etc.). The other option is for outpatients to be evaluated at the Sanatorio Otamendi clinics, either by appointment or on a walk-in basis.
