Diagnostic imaging
The Residency is a fundamental space for comprehensive theoretical and practical training for physicians specializing in Diagnostic Imaging.
The Diagnostic Imaging Service at Medical Center has the physical space, human resources, and technology needed to provide this training. We believe that by completing a full residency, physicians can aspire to become specialists and acquire theoretical and practical mastery of different areas.
The program has been designed to last four years and includes rotations through all areas of Diagnostic Imaging.
At the same time, residents attend the "Advanced Course for Specialists in Diagnostic Imaging" offered by the Argentine Society of Radiology and the Specialist program at the University of Buenos Aires, which also lasts four years.
The resident physician will actively participate in interdisciplinary groups through seminars and classes, as well as conferences where they can present research papers.
Once the courses have been passed and the residency completed, graduates will receive the following qualifications: Resident Physician, issued by the Medical Center , and Specialist in Diagnostic Imaging, issued by the Argentine Society of Radiology and the University of Buenos Aires. The latter qualification is recognized both nationally and internationally, in accordance with existing agreements between the University of Buenos Aires and foreign universities.
The specialist in Diagnostic Imaging will be a physician capable of performing effectively in this institution and in others anywhere in the country.
It is expected that physicians who graduate from the Institution's Residency Programs will acquire comprehensive professional skills in the following areas:
- As a member of the healthcare team: Being able to interact with peers and superiors, promoting teamwork in order to promote person-centered care.
- As a professional: Being able to uphold ethical and moral principles in relation to patients, their environment, and society.
- As an expert professional: Being able to demonstrate judgment, synthesis, care, effectiveness, and efficiency in the integration and application of knowledge and skills.
- As a communicator: Being able to effectively convey information both to the patient/family and among the work team.
- As a lifelong learner: Being able to recognize the need for continuous learning to improve your professional activity.
- As a researcher: Being able to demonstrate an active attitude toward the search for and generation of new knowledge, integrating research work into professional practice.
- As a manager/administrator: Being able to properly use the different devices and resources available to the healthcare system.
