Winter can present certain challenges to maintaining a regular exercise routine, but you shouldn't let the cold temperatures stop you. Regular physical activity is essential for maintaining cardiovascular health, reducing the risk of heart disease, and improving your overall well-being.

One of the most important tips has to do with clothing. It is essential to dress in layers to adapt to changes in temperature. If the physical activity takes place outdoors, fortunately today we have sportswear that is not only comfortable but also designed for unfavorable weather conditions. In some cases, it may be necessary to protect your hands with gloves, wear thicker socks for your feet, and use other accessories for your head and neck.

Another important factor in preventing injuries is warming up. Start with a proper warm-up, which is usually longer than in summer and should include movements of the muscle groups that are going to be trained.

Regarding the recommended training schedule, you should try to take advantage of the times of day with the highest temperatures and sunlight, which is usually between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m.

Attention should be paid to hydration, which should be done even in the absence of thirst, and drinks should not be too cold.

Finally, it is important to recover your body temperature after finishing exercise by wearing warm clothes and, if possible, taking a hot bath.

Winter should not be an impediment to continuing our physical activity routine.
