Dyslipidemia is a medical condition characterized by abnormal levels of lipids or fats in the blood. In particular, it refers to high levels of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) or "bad cholesterol," and/or low levels of high-density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C) or "good cholesterol." It can also include high levels of triglycerides, another type of fat in the blood. This condition can increase the risk of cardiovascular diseases, such as heart disease and stroke, and can be treated through lifestyle changes, such as diet and exercise, and/or medications prescribed by our medical professionals.
