Pulmonology is a medical specialty that focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of lung and respiratory tract diseases. Pulmonologists treat patients with a variety of respiratory conditions, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma, pulmonary fibrosis, pneumonia, lung cancer, and sleep apnea. They may also treat patients with rare and complex lung diseases, such as cystic fibrosis and pulmonary hypertension.
