It is an imaging study that uses ultrasound and color Doppler technology to evaluate the anatomy and flow of the hepatic portal venous system and/or the splenic artery, as well as any related pathology.
During the exam, the patient will lie down on a table and gel will be applied to the skin of the abdomen, allowing the structures to be evaluated using a transducer. The results of this study will then be reported by the specialist.
