It is an imaging study that uses ultrasound to evaluate the size, shape, and structure of the organs that make up the abdomen (liver, gallbladder, bile duct, kidneys, pancreas, spleen, and aorta) as well as their respective pathologies.

During the exam, the patient will lie down on a table and gel will be applied to the skin of the abdomen, allowing the structures to be evaluated using a transducer. The results of this study will then be reported by the specialist.
