It is an imaging study that uses ultrasound to evaluate the size, shape, and structure of the testicles. In some cases, the doctor may request that color Doppler imaging be added to assess vascularization and blood flow.
During the exam, the patient will lie down on a table and gel will be applied to the skin to allow for the assessment of the structures to be evaluated using a transducer. The results of this study will then be reported by the specialist.
