A bone age assessment X-ray is an imaging test that uses X-rays to take images of the wrist and hand to assess the maturity of the skeletal system in a pediatric patient. During the exam, the patient must remove any metal objects from the area to be studied and position themselves as instructed by the radiology technician in order to take different projections, according to the doctor's request. The images obtained will then be analyzed and reported by a specialist in diagnostic imaging.
