An angiography (also known as CT angiography) is an imaging test that uses X-rays to create detailed images of the region of the body being studied. It allows for the evaluation of the anatomy of both arterial and venous vascular structures, as well as their respective pathology, through the injection of an intravenous iodinated contrast agent. If you are allergic to iodine, you must inform the staff when you make your appointment.

During the exam, the patient will lie down on a table and an IV will be inserted, which will be used to inject the contrast dye. The table will slide into the CT scanner while a voice will give the patient instructions, allowing several images to be captured according to the contrast injection time. The images obtained will be processed by a computer to create a multiplanar study, which will then be analyzed and reported by a specialist in diagnostic imaging.
