Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
PREPARATION IN BLOOD
8 hours of fasting.
PREPARATION IN URINE
To perform the test:
- Obtain a clean, dry, rigid plastic container with a capacity of ½ to 1 liter (minimum 1.5 liters). Use rigid plastic bottles or containers that have not previously contained detergents, bleach, or soft drinks, and wash them thoroughly with water.
- Obtain 250 mL of distilled water from the pharmacy.
- It is advisable not to collect urine during menstruation. If it is necessary to do so during this period, it is recommended to insert a tampon and wash the area thoroughly with water before collecting urine.
- Do not eat or drink anything during the urine sample collection period.
Instructions for collecting urine:
1. Upon waking, before eating or drinking anything, empty your bladder and discard the urine. Immediately after drinking 250 mL of distilled water, note the time. Continue fasting, without engaging in any physical activity and refraining from urinating.
2. Exactly 2 hours after you first urinated, urinate and collect that urine in the plastic container. If you are unable to hold your urine for that length of time, you may collect all urination in the container until the two hours are up.
3. Take the sample to the laboratory as soon as possible.
Very important: To obtain valid and reliable results, it is necessary to strictly adhere to the schedule and ensure that the urine sample is complete.
