Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
PREPARATION
Collect the sample before starting any antibiotic treatment. If you are taking antibiotics, stop treatment 72 hours before obtaining the sample, unless otherwise indicated by your doctor.
The test is performed with the first urine of the morning, or with a minimum urine retention of 3 hours. Before obtaining the sample, perform thorough genital hygiene with soap and water.
Women should wash from front to back, rinse thoroughly with water, and dry with a paper towel. Adult women should insert a vaginal tampon.
Men should retract the foreskin, wash the penis three times, rinse thoroughly with water, and dry with a paper towel. The sample to be obtained consists of urine corresponding to the middle portion of the stream. To do this, begin urinating in the toilet, discarding that portion; then collect the middle portion in the sterile container; and finally discard the last portion of the urine.
