Preparation for video colonoscopy studies

Please note that the success of your study depends on strict compliance with the instructions detailed below.
DIET 3 DAYS PRIOR TO THE STUDY
- You may eat: red meat, white meat (chicken, fish), plain pasta, white bread, dairy products, potatoes, eggs.
- Do not eat: vegetables (except potatoes), fruits, whole grains, cereal bars. No seeds. No jams.
DAY BEFORE THE STUDY
Throughout the day of preparation, you may drink liquids such as tea, mate, and mate cocido. Diet juices, gelatin (not red), strained broths, and water. Do not consume coffee, dairy products, or soft drinks.
Prepare SINASTAL according to the instructions on the original packaging and place it in the refrigerator.
- 8 a.m. BREAKFAST: Tea , crackers with cooked ham or cream cheese.
- 1:00 p.m. LUNCH: White meat , mashed potatoes, or noodles without sauce. Diet flan or gelatin: one serving.
- 4:00 p.m. SNACK ( optional): Gelatin drink or water ice cream.
- 5:00 p.m.: Take 2 DOMEKA tablets.
- 6:00 PM DINNER: Strained broth with noodles, gelatin without red coloring.
Taking SINASTAL medication
After dinner and until midnight, you should drink 2.5 liters (approximately one glass every 15 to 20 minutes). If you do this strictly, you will finish drinking before midnight. AFTER YOU START TAKING THE LAXATIVE, DO NOT EAT ANY SOLID FOOD.
EXAM DAY
Before breakfast, take 2 DOMEKA tablets.
You can have an early breakfast of tea with two or three crackers.
From 8 a.m. (or earlier) until 10 a.m. at the latest, drink the remaining 1.5 liters of SINASTAL. Do not consume any liquids or solids after this time.
- Bring pre-surgical results (electrocardiogram and coagulation study).
- Come accompanied or have someone pick you up.
- Do not drive after this study.
- Do not stop taking heart or blood pressure medication (as applicable).
- Please inform us if you are taking antiplatelet agents and/or anticoagulants.
- Bring previous studies.
NOTE: If you are diabetic or have kidney or heart failure, consult your doctor.
