Preparation for video colonoscopy studies
SINASTAL
Please note that the success of your study depends on strict compliance with the instructions detailed below.
DIET 3 DAYS PRIOR TO THE STUDY
- You may eat: red meat, white meat (chicken, fish), plain pasta, white bread, dairy products, potatoes, eggs.
- Do not eat: vegetables (except potatoes), fruits, whole grains, cereal bars. No seeds.
DAY BEFORE THE STUDY
Throughout the day of preparation, you may drink liquids such as tea, mate, mate cocido, diet juices, diet gelatins without red coloring, strained broths, and water.
Tomorrow
- Prepare SINASTAL according to the instructions on the original packaging and place it in the refrigerator.
- 8 a.m. Breakfast: cup of tea, crackers with cooked ham or cream cheese.
Lunch – *Before lunch, take 2 DOMEKA tablets.
- Chicken with potatoes or noodles.
- Diet flan or gelatin: one serving.
Snack (optional). 3:00 p.m.: crackers with ham or cream cheese. (Last solid meal)
Taking medication
- 2 p.m. Start taking the SINASTAL solution .
- You must drink the 4 liters of the solution within a maximum of 7 hours (until 11 p.m.).
- At 8 p.m., take 1 DOMEKA tablet.
- You may drink other types of liquids (non-carbonated, sugar-free) in between doses of SINASTAL.
- You can add diet powdered juices (such as Clight) to the SINASTAL solution to change the flavor.
EXAM DAY
- Bring pre-surgical results (electrocardiogram and coagulation study).
- Come accompanied or have someone pick you up.
- Do not drive after this study.
- Do not stop taking heart or blood pressure medication.
- Please inform us if you are taking antiplatelet agents and/or anticoagulants.
- Bring previous studies.
- On the day of the study, please arrive 15 minutes before the study time.
NOTE: If you are diabetic or have kidney or heart failure, consult your doctor.
