Admission to the Intensive Care Unit

The nursing department has a structure consisting of a nursing supervisor, a head nurse per shift, and a team of nurses on each shift. We are also supported by physical therapists, nutritionists, and a clinical pharmacist. All care activities are coordinated in therapeutic meetings that we hold three times a day.

Visiting hours

We are committed to a humanized approach to medicine, particularly in intensive care. For us, family members are not visitors, but part of the therapeutic team. It has been proven that this approach helps patients in their recovery, improving their psychological and emotional well-being and reducing the post-traumatic stress caused by hospitalization in the ICU. Therefore, you can accompany your family members throughout the day. However, given the high workload between 8 a.m. and 11 a.m., we may ask you to remain in the waiting room. Especially during the winter months, the number of visitors per room is restricted to only one person at a time.

We do not recommend admission for children under the age of 6, but if requested by families, we will consider each case individually.

Medical report

Between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., the ICU coordinators will provide you with a medical report on the patient's progress. We have an area in the waiting room specially designated for this purpose, where we can report to family members. At that time, you will be able to ask us any questions you may have. In addition, we will speak with patients directly if their medical condition allows it. Although we only provide a daily report, you should know that if circumstances require it, we will contact you to discuss any new developments. If this happens outside of coordination hours, the professionals on duty will communicate with you.

Hand washing

At the Medical Center very strict about hand washing. Ask your family members and healthcare professionals to wash their hands frequently and use hydroalcoholic solution. Hand washing saves lives.
