We offer specialized care for patients with severe musculoskeletal injuries and related complications. The service has professionals specialized in this pathology, which is becoming increasingly common, partly due to increased life expectancy (geriatric fractures) and also due to the rise in public road and sports accidents (young adult fractures). Our traumatology service is capable of handling all types of orthopedic trauma, from minor injuries (finger fractures, sprains, etc.) to more complex injuries which, if improperly treated or treated by doctors with little experience in trauma, can leave severe disabling sequelae (hip, acetabulum, spine fractures, etc.). The ability to work in high-complexity centers, as well as performing all necessary studies, leads to satisfactory outcomes in the treatment of these severe injuries. The Traumatology Service's research activities include studies in areas such as advances in minimally invasive surgeries, biomechanics, lower limb injury rehabilitation, and limb salvage strategies. There are two ways to treat these patients: one option is during inpatient consultations, where the doctor, upon the call from the family or referring physician, goes to the hospital to set up everything necessary for the surgery (operating room, prosthesis, anesthesiology, etc.), or in cases where outpatients are evaluated at Otamendi Hospital’s outpatient clinic on a scheduled basis (by appointment) or walk-in.

The arthroscopy service uses minimally invasive procedures, with small incisions and surgical instruments the size of a pencil connected to a video camera that allows visualization of the intra-articular structures.
