The arrival of a baby brings many challenges for a family. As the due date approaches, the sooner you pack your hospital bag, the better, in case of any eventuality. It is generally advisable to pack it from week 35 of pregnancy onwards.
To ensure you are comfortable and don't leave anything to the last minute, we suggest that your maternity bag includes everything you need for yourself, your baby, and your companion.

Our recommendations for packing your hospital bag for the birth of your baby are as follows:
For Mom:
- 2 or 3 nightgowns that open at the front to facilitate breastfeeding 1 robe
- 4 changes of loose-fitting, comfortable underwear (can be disposable)
- 3 nursing bras
- 1 pair of comfortable shoes
- Personal hygiene items
- A hair clip or hair tie
- Comfortable, loose-fitting clothing for the day of discharge
- Required documentation: National Identity Card, private health insurance card, or health insurance card.
- Tests performed during pregnancy: Third trimester serology, blood type and factor, fetal monitoring, ultrasounds, surgical risk
Preparing for breastfeeding:
- Nursing pillow
- Some moisturizing and healing cream for nipple care suggested by the obstetrician.
- Air vent caps
For the baby
The Institution will provide:
- Diaper area hygiene items: calcareous oil, cotton, newborn diapers
- The umbilical cord heals dry, and professionals will provide guidelines for proper healing
. - Crib clothes, cotton gowns, and hats will be provided by the service until the time of discharge.
- A set of clothes for discharge and, if desired, for the hospital stay. We suggest
Lightweight cotton clothing in light colors, practical items such as rompers or bodysuits, shorts,
Blankets to replace those provided by the Medical Center. - For safe transportation within the institution and on the way home, we recommend using a child restraint system or infant carrier that complies with the relevant safety regulations.
