Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
PREPARATION
To perform the study, you will need:
• Sterile wide-mouth container with airtight lid
• Dry container for collecting stool samples (flat dish, basin, etc.), washed with soap and water. • Disposable plastic spoon, new or disinfected, for transferring fecal matter to the jar. Alternatively, a sterile wooden spatula can be used.
• Instructions for obtaining samples:
• Obtain fecal matter from any spontaneous bowel movement in the disinfected container, not in the toilet. Immediately collect the equivalent of one teaspoonful in the sterile container.
• Preferably select a portion of fecal matter that appears bloody or mucousy.
• If it is a diaper, scrape it off and transfer it to a sterile container.
• Do not bring the diaper to the laboratory: it will not be accepted.
• Store at room temperature until taken to the laboratory.
