Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
PREPARATION
Saliva will be collected on one or more occasions, at 8:00 a.m., 4:00 p.m., or 11:00 p.m., as indicated by your doctor.
In any case, the following instructions must be followed to obtain the sample:
1.Do not engage in strenuous physical activity in the 12 hours prior to the procedure, and remain at rest for 2 hours beforehand.
2.Do not drink mate, tea, coffee, or alcohol for 8 hours prior to the procedure, and do not eat or drink anything for 3 hours prior to the procedure. Brush your teeth as usual after your last meal.
3.Before collecting saliva, rinse your mouth with water without brushing again. Do not collect saliva if you have bleeding mouth sores (gums, etc.).
4.At the appointed time, spit into a sterile jar so that the bottom is covered with approximately 2 ml of saliva. Keep refrigerated until delivery to the laboratory.
5.Inform the laboratory if you are taking medication to lower your cholesterol and/or triglyceride (lipid) levels.
WHERE TO CONDUCT THE STUDY
Admission must be done at the reception desk.
