A video colonoscopy is an endoscopic examination to view the inside of the digestive tract by inserting an instrument, called a colonoscope, through the anus. The colonoscope is basically a flexible tube equipped with a lighting system, a miniature camera, and a channel (called a working channel) through which various accessories can be inserted to take samples of lesions or perform treatments. 

Investigate signs and symptoms such as abdominal pain, chronic diarrhea, rectal bleeding, and other intestinal disorders.

It is required in healthy individuals without symptoms aged 50 and over as a method of preventing colon cancer and for the detection of polyps for removal and prevention of the development of colon cancer.

A thorough cleansing of the colon is required, which is why you will be given instructions detailing the type of diet and laxative you should take beforehand. If you are taking antiplatelet or anticoagulant medication, you should consult your doctor.

You must bring previous studies, not drive after the study, and come accompanied.
